Counselling with Rachel Dowling

Modern day life can be fast paced and overwhelming and the day to day challenges we face can become a struggle particularly if you are experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression.

When these feelings begin to affect the way we live our everyday life they become a problem and it’s time for you to seek some help.

I provide therapy that can help you make sense of these emotions. I can help support you through these thoughts and feelings so that you are able to cope with life’s challenges in a more productive way.

I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy that uses tools and techniques from a number of disciplines which means that I am able to devise a treatment plan that suits each individual. I can empower you to work through your problem/s and help you to gain the confidence to live a more fulfilling life.

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor accredited by the National Counselling Society.  I’m also a fully qualified hypnotherapist.

I trained and studied for my qualifications during my 12 years’ service as a musician in the British Army. I play the trumpet and the cornet.  As a mum of two I now run a private therapy practice but I still play my music; now in a band in South Wales- and it’s my form of therapy.

I believe that the role of therapy is to provide a safe space for people to explore their problems and help to reconnect with themselves.

I am about supporting and empowering people to work through their problems to be the best version of themselves that they can be and get pleasure from life.

I am an advocate of looking after wellbeing and believe that it is fundamental to the overall health of a person. It is important to look after your mental health as it can have a profound effect on your physical health.

I am an established psychotherapist who brings compassion, empathy and sensitivity to the therapy room, which I feel are the most important qualities of a therapeutic relationship.

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy that provides a space for you to explore what is troubling you. When coping with life’s stresses we can feel lost or overthink things. This results in our thoughts becoming confusing and overwhelming. Talking therapy combined with the use tools such as mindfulness, visualisation, hypnotherapy and breathing exercises can be beneficial to help you gain direction and see your problems more clearly.

Whether you have been to therapy previously or have no previous experience of therapy I can help you. Why wait? Book an appointment with me today and invest in your wellbeing.
